TL;DR version: Stranded on the side of the road at 11:45 AM, Vehicle returned - FAR safer than it was - by 4:30 PM for a fair price. Last year when we first moved into the area we were visited by Honest-1's contracted sales guys out selling discount service cards. We bought one for each car, to set us up with oil changes for 2 years and additional work that we knew would need to be done as both of our vehicles are aging.Yesterday it all paid off. As I turned onto a busy street at 11:45 am my car started screaming, grinding, and stopped steering. I was lucky enough to be within tow range of Honest-1 and asked my insurance to get me there, knowing they knew the history of the vehicle. With visions of our two car vacation quickly disappearing and my anxiety rising, an hour later the tow truck arrived and took me over to the shop. We checked the car in, asked them to complete the oil service while they did the diagnostic, and enjoyed the joviality of the staff. After sitting in a hot car for an hour waiting for the tow, the air conditioning and invitation to laughter were a much needed mood enhancer. Armed with information about a rental company in case the news was the worst, we went home to wait. Less than half an hour later we had an update - it was the left front axle that had snapped. We agreed to the estimate, knowing it could be more once they got in, and continued to wait. By 2 PM they had a full treatment outlined that included the axle, the oil service, and other safety issues that we had known needed to be done but just couldn't seem to find the time to schedule. With our certificate on board the discounts MORE than covered what we had spent on purchasing them. Here's the amazing part - they had the car done and ready with new front axle, new brake pads, oil service, new battery, new spark plugs, and headlamp restoration (all services we had previously discussed and had on record including estimates from months ago) all completed by 4:30 PM. That's a 3 1/2 hour turn around from drop off to pick up. I am thrilled with their service and grateful to know they are available.
